Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat your animal's medication quickly and easily here

If you require a repeat prescription for your animal, please send us your details using the form below and we'll call you back. We recommend that you order prescriptions online several working days before you need them. For prescriptions needed urgently within 48 hours, please call your branch.

There is a legal requirement for us to monitor our patients carefully and we cannot issue prescriptions to animals we have not examined. Under prescribing regulations, veterinary surgeons may only prescribe Prescription Only Medicines Category V (POM-Vs) for animals under their care.

Registered clients can obtain POM-Vs directly from our vets or may ask for a written prescription to obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or a pharmacy.

A written prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an in-patient or if immediate treatment is necessary.

For animals on long term medication requiring repeat prescriptions, our general policy is to re-examine the animal every 3 months, but this may vary with individual circumstances. Re-examinations are required by law, to check for any change in the condition, any new problems, to allow dosage adjustments and to check for any side effects. The current price of a re-examination is £23.70 including VAT.

Urine and blood tests may also be required for monitoring drug therapy and your vet will discuss this with you at your animal’s re-examination appointment.

You are welcome to ask us about our current prices for specific medicines, laboratory tests or written prescriptions for your animal. Just ask when you visit the surgery or give us a call.
