Nicola Young

Nicola has worked with us at MBM Vets Mauchline for many years and will be a familiar, friendly face to many clients. She first joined us for a week’s work experience away back in November 1999, when the practice was known by it’s former name of Barr & MacMillan. The rest, as they say, is history!

Whilst carrying out her studies at the SRUC, Nicola continued to work with us part-time as a receptionist and nursing assistant. She successfully graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Animal Science and worked as a Laboratory Assistant at the SRUC Disease & Diagnostic Laboratory, mainly in the parasitology and in the pathology departments. However, Nicola kept her ties with MBM and continued to work weekend reception shifts for us over the years. From August 2015, she became an office administrator for our Mauchline surgery.

Nicola has great practical knowledge of reptiles, being an owner of no fewer than seven tortoises! She also keeps two guinea pigs and enjoys horse riding as often as she can.
