Kat has been immersed in the world of ‘all creatures great and small’ since she was tiny! Brought up on her family’s beef and sheep farm, where she has always been a keen helper, she has also kept ponies and dogs.
After leaving school, Kat went to Edinburgh Napier University to study veterinary nursing, and first came to MBM as a student during this time. She successfully graduated with a BSc (Hons) and her RVN qualification, and began full time work with MBM at our Kilmarnock surgery in 2012. She works mainly in the small animal department and occasionally with our equine team.
Kat does a great job organising our pharmacy and stock, but of her favourite tasks are the hands-on jobs working with in-patients and assisting with surgical operations. She also enjoys working in our in-house laboratory.
In her spare time, Kat has a very creative side. She has directed award-winning drama productions with local Young Farmers, and produces handmade invitations and cards. Somehow, she still manages to fit in helping out at home on the farm, looking after her Labrador Lexi, and socialising with friends and family!
