Craig Paterson - Veterinary Nurse
Craig Paterson RVN Veterinary Nurse

Craig studied at SRUC, Barony Campus, and successfully qualified as a vet nurse in 2013. Shortly after, he joined the MBM team working full time at our Kilmarnock surgery. You’ll see him mainly in the small animal department but occasionally he’ll help the equine team too.

Although he enjoys all aspects of the job, his particular interests are in laboratory work, dentistry and diagnostics and he regularly attends courses on these subjects - so he really knows his stuff! Craig also enjoys consulting with clients, especially on the topics of dentistry, nutrition and diabetes.

In 2015, after further study Craig became a clinical coach. This allowed him to teach practical skills and train student veterinary nurses in the practice here. In 2017, he went a step further and became a clinical skills examiner, so he now also assesses student OSCE examinations. This is something Craig finds very rewarding and hopes to pursue further in the future.

Spare time is taken up by his flock of backyard poultry, consisting of hens, ducks and geese. He also helps look after 30 Clydesdale horses at a local yard, as well as working when he can on the family farm.
